What Are Some of the Best AdSense Alternatives?

If you've been trying to earn a living with the Google AdSense program and you're finding it to be tough sledding, here are some other options you can try either in conjunction with or in place of AdSense to boost the revenue of your websites.

Adbrite

I really like Adbrite for a number of reasons, but one of my favorite is that you can use Adbrite as an AdSense replacement ONLY if it's most profitable for you.

For example, I've got a website in the debt industry and among the many ways I monetize the site, I also use AdSense. So just putting untested Adbrite Ads in place of AdSense didn't seem particularly palatable. However, with Adbrite I didn't have to.

Adbrite will run my AdSense ads unless they get advertising willing to pay me more than the eCPM I was already earning from that when it displays AdSense ads.

Affiliates Links

If you see a lot of ads running for a particular product and they stay there, I'd recommend skipping the middle man and promoting the product yourself.

If you're in a niche where people are passionate and spend money, promoting products as an affiliate can be highly profitable.

CPA Programs

I remember when I first learned people were earning 100x more with CPA offers on certain websites than they were with AdSense... to be honest, I really didn't believe it.

However, I later learned that some websites can really perform well when you put CPA offers on the site. The key here is that SOME do and some don't. However, it's well worth the test.

Kontera

In the world of SEO, contextual links are considered to be among the best. So it only makes sense that advertisers would want to take advantage of them too. That's where networks like Kontera come into play. They'll make text on your website look like text links where you get paid anytime somebody clicks on the link.

I wouldn't call it a complete AdSense replacement, but a nice compliment to the program.

Chitika

Chitika is another wonderful ad network to test out on your sites as a potential AdSense replacement.

They have a cool click prediction algorithm that will display select ads on your site when there is a higher chance that the person will actually click on the ad. I don't understand how it works exactly, but I can tell you it's a cool piece of technology.

Pay Per Click Advertising - AdSense Alternatives

Google AdSense really opened the door for all website owners to monetize their website with very little knowledge about how to do it before hand. AdSense revolutionized the pay per click advertising world by offering a network for publishers to sign up for and receive cash in exchange for allowing pay per click advertising on their websites. Today there are hundreds of similar pay per click ad networks today that offer the same service.

However, one problem with the traditional method of website advertising is that most people are so used to the constant marketing online these days that they've trained their eyes not to even notice all the ads. The few times people may actually notice the PPC ads on a website are usually when those ads are overly risque or conveying a message you may not want on your website. This can hurt your business and certainly won't bring in any cash from the PPC ads on your website.

The newest solution to placing ads on your website is In Text PPC ads. In Text pay per click ads place the advertisements right within the text of your website. They're linked to your website's keywords, and they appear as a double-underlined word or phrase in your articles. In Text pads are much quieter than the PPC banner ads of old, and people only see the ads if they click on the link. When your website visitor brings her mouse over the double-underlined phrase, she sees a little bubble that shows a bit more information about the advertiser. This is a great way for PPC advertisers to deliver a message that will compel your website visitors to click on their ads.

5 AdSense Alternative

If you have been banned by AdSense, or you're simply looking for an alternative to the pay per click program, I have 5 alternatives that you can look into. Each of the following solutions are unique in their own way, so I highly recommend giving each one a try, to see what will best fit your website. Choosing the right company can sometimes be the difference between earning pennies and dollars online. Again, I recommend choosing wisely, testing each program to see what will work best for you, and maybe reading some reviews, to get a better understanding of what each company has to offer.

1) Infolinks: This is an in-text pay per click advertising solution. If you're running a template-based website, you can stick the Infolinks code straight into the template, and have your ads displaying site-wide, right away. The in-text ads are fully customizable. Best of all, you can run Infolinks on pages that also contain AdSense advertisements.

2) Chitika: Chitika is a program that is very similar to AdSense. Currently, it's extremely difficult to get accepted into their program, but their payouts are relatively high. The available ad units are relatively customizable, and you can run these ads with pages that contain AdSense advertisements, as well.

3) ClickBank: ClickBank is not a pay per click advertising solution. With Clickbank, you get paid when someone purchases an eBook through your link. Although it's more difficult to make a sale than it is to get a click, you can make high amounts of money when a sale is made.

4) Amazon: Like ClickBank, you get paid when someone purchases an item through your link. Commissions usually start at around 4%, but rise throughout each month, as you make more sales.

5) Adbrite: Similar to AdSense, you will get money every time a reader clicks one of your advertisements. AdBrite also has many other features. Intext advertising and full page banner ads are some of these features. Many people have had high amounts of success with AdBrite.

The 5 AdSense alternatives that I have mentioned all work quite well, when they're placed on the right type of website. While one individual may make high amounts of money with AdBrite, you may find that ClickBank is the best program for you. In general, it's always a good idea to test each of the programs on all of your websites, to see which ones work best for you. Remember, some of the 5 solutions can be used together. Be sure to read the rules for each company, so you can be sure that you're abiding by their conditions.

Google AdSense, a contextual Advertising Network, is the number 1 in Online Advertising Field. Everyone can make good money out of Google's AdSense Ads if they follow the Guidelines and TOS perfectly. This service is completely FREE and just requires a good website/blog to start with. Webmasters opt for AdSense Alternatives for two reasons. They are:

12 CPM Alternatives to Adsense

Video content publishers face a unique capitalization challenge on the internet today. Sites that rely on new media for the bulk of their content are unable to earn as much from Adsense as those sites that feature more traditional written articles.

Improving CPM in a New Media Era

There are CPM alternatives to the pay-per-click model that can offer video content publishers better monetization than Adsense. These impression based publishing networks have often been around for many years, while some are new to the field and thus have less stringent traffic requirements. While the CPM amount that can be earned varies depending on the niche and number of unique visitors/pageviews per month, for new media publishers this amount is often higher than Adsense revenue.

The following publishers are ordered by their traffic requirements, in parentheses.

AdsDaq (no requirement) – While they only provide CPM ads to specific countries, their ability to display backup ads from any network makes them an easy first choice for somebody looking to test the waters of the CPM market.

Ad Dynamix – (no requirement) – While not quite as intuitive as AdsDaq, their minimal requirements make Ad Dynamix quite approachable even though their customer support is poor.

ValueClick (3,000 pageviews per month) – While their pageview requirements are quite low, ValueClick is known to be picky with the type of site they will approve.

Morning Falls (10,000 pageviews per month) – A relatively low traffic requirement, solid customer service, simple implementation and easy to understand reports make this a good CPM publisher for beginners.

CPX Interactive (10,000 pageviews per month) – A relatively new face on the advertising scene, CPX Interactive offers good integration and solid reporting. Meeting the traffic requirements is not always good enough, however, as their internal approval process is on the strict side.

Burst Media (20,000 pageviews per month) – Burst Media is an intermediate advertising publisher. Their overly-complicated integration and reports, as well as their poor customer service hold them back from the upper echelon of advertising networks.

Casale Media (10,000 unique visitors per month) – A good intermediate ad publisher, perfect for an established site that has not quite reached A-List status just yet. Casale Media handles larger sites as well, making them a good long-term choice for many sites.

Tribal Fusion (60,000 unique visitors per month) – A solid pay scale, depending on your niche. Tribal Fusion represents hundreds of sites with a wide range of categories.

Brightroll (100,000 video views and 250,000 pageviews per month) – Along with Video Egg, Brightroll is the only other advertising publisher on this list that is truly centered on new media. Their video view requirement automatically puts them in the advanced category.

Adtegrity (500,000 pageviews per month) – While their orange and green color scheme may make you scratch your head, Adtegrity is known for their quality customer service and is quickly becoming a leader in the advertising network field.

Advertising.com (2 million pageviews per month) – One of the heavy hitters of online ad publishing, their high pageview entry point means only well-established sites need apply.

Video Egg (10 million video views per month) – The cream of the new media crop, Video Egg concentrates entirely on advertising in online videos.

Conclusion

Once a new media site has obtained a solid audience a close examination will reveal that Adsense simply doesn’t have as much clout as it should. As your site grows, consider other advertising methods and networks. Your bottom line will appreciate your efforts.

Adsense Alternative for Indian Publishers

webmasters who publish Ads for Indiantraffic, if your website/blog gets the bulk of traffic from US (for example)there are off course plenty of other choices.

Ever since I started monetizing my sitesI was on the lookout for an AdsenseAlternative, not that I was dissatisfied with Adsense but to keep my options open and try the alternates.

So far I have tried Adbrite, Bidvertiser, Kontera, Chitika, Tyroo and few CPM solutions with depressing results. With low Ad inventory for India Ads were either un-targeted or PSA. Even when the ads did load and get clicked the CPC was hardly 0.01$.

Now finally I believe I have found a real alternate to Adsense in Infolinks

I have been using Infolinks on few sites for the last two months now with average CTR of over 3% and 1$ eCPM. Now these figures can hardly be classified as GOLD but barring Adsense; other networks will be hard pressed to achieve these sorts of figures with Indian Traffic.

Infolinks is in-text Advertising that doesn’t require any free space on your site and you don’t need to design your site around the Ads.
They pay on Net45 basis, earnings accumulated in a month are paid within 45 days,( i was paid on the 30th day).
Payments are via PayPal or bank wire transfer

0+ Self-Serve Ad Networks & AdSense Alternatives

Entrepreneur or SMB marketer drawing up an advertising budget for 2010? Try this massive list of over 30 ad networks I’ve compiled while browsing around the web. I’ve tried to focus on those that are SMB friendly with self-serve platforms. I’ve ignored CPA networks and tried to eliminate advertising aggregators, and the search engines.

Particular demographics / audiences

1. FARK.com – 18-28 year old men – Flat rate text links sold on a weekly basis (through a redirect; they’re not for SEO points)

2. Facebook – The biggest social network has hyper precise targeting. Don’t overdo it though, or you’ll end up like I did once, targeting merely 20 people.

3. PlentyOfFish – The web’s second largest free dating site has an self-service ad platform

4. MyAds on MySpace.com – Self serve banners like Facebook, with similar demographic targeting

5. AdEngage – A variety of formats focused on humor and games

6. Canoe Klix – French Canadian contextual CPC on premium French Canadian sites

7. Adknowledge.com – Social network ads published on social games

8. Click-Share – A variety of demographic targeting options are available, including some not seen elsewhere such as household income, children in household etc.

9. Chitika.com – A focus on monetizing SEO traffic has made them attractive to retail advertisers.

General – Most of these are available on a CPC basis, even if the ad format is banners

10. AdRoll.com – Offers help creating display ads, retargeting and other capabilities

11. BuySellAds.com – Blog banners, mostly 125×125

12. AdToll – Banners, peel-away and mixed banner/text ads.

13. Advertising opportunities at Amazon.com – Available for both products and services

14. FetchBack – The Retargeting Company

15. AOL’s AdSonar – Different targeting options, and selling text links afaik. I’d link to AdSonar.com’s homepage but it just redirects to an AOL Advertising page, even though the site itself is up…

16. ContextWeb / ADSDAQ – Allows you to bid on traffic by category

17. Bidvertiser – Text and banner ads

18. Adbrite.com – Generalist network

19. AdReady – A competitor to AdRoll with similar banner making capabilities, but without the retargeting

20. Marchex – Boasting a portfolio of 100,000s of generic domain names, Marchex sells ads by click (self-serve) or by call (not)

News Media

21. AOL’s BidPlace SB – Banners on premium sites

22. MediaBids.com Print advertising auction

23. NYTimes – Starts at the exorbitant rate of $8 CPM. [Also requires you to drop the soap on entering...]

24. CBS Interactive – Similar rates as the NYT.

What surprises me about the NYT and CBS is that they don’t get that advertising is driven by efficiency, and publishers accepting some of the risk.

Twitter.com - Buy your message and link in someone’s tweet. Pretty self-explanatory. Some also offer “analytics,” though those offerings are all pretty light for now.

25. Twittad

26. BeTweeted

27. Be a Magpie (UK oriented)

28. Ad.ly

29. Sponsored Tweets

30. AdCause – Support charity with your ad dollars

31. TweetROI

Shopping Affiliate Program

Adsense AlternativesAs a seasoned affiliate marketer, I was pleased to recently come accross a brand new cpa network (or affiliate program) called Prosperent. Prosperent is something that falls into the Google Adsense alternatives category.

Prosperent is a highly targeted cost-per-action behavioral ad network. What does that mean? Let me break it down for you. It's a lot more simple than it sounds:

Prosperent: Step 1

Visitors Find Your Site in Search Engines When Searching For Products

Benefits of Prosperent

Why You Should Join Prosperent Targeted Cost-Per-Action Ad Network

Adsense Alternatives1.) Targeted Cost-Per-Action Advertising. There's nothing else like Prosperent around. It is a one-of-a-kind CPA network as of now. If you are a retail affiliate marketer, you need to join.

2.)
Product Affiliate Program. Looking for an affiliate program with millions of products but don't want to waste time adding all of them to thousands of websites? Tired of being rejected by merchants? Prosperent is FOR YOU. Quickly and easily add a java code to your website and products will be displayed based on your visitors' search queries.

3.)
High eCPM. What is eCPM? Effective cost per thousand visitors or revenue generated per 1,000 pages served. I have seen much higher eCPM with Prosperent than with other leading CPA ad networks. For example, take a CPA ad network that pays you for a sale. There's always a flat rate commission, right? Well, that's definitely not the case with Prosperent. Commissions vary on every product and some publishers have even made up to $1,300 on a single click! No other CPA network can do that for you. No way!

4.) Easily and simply add Prosperent code to your site. Just copy and paste (control + C to copy and control + V to paste). That's it! Your ads will be automatically targeted to your visitors with nothing more for you to do.

5.)
Complete ad customization. Don't like borders? Want a particular font or color? No problem with Prosperent. You can adjust all of the creative aspects of your ads within your Prosperent account.

6.)
Product image ads and/or text ads. Your choice. Let's face it: text ads can get BORING. Prosperent shows product images. Jazz up your websites with images instead of using forgetful Adsense ads!

Adsense Alternatives7.) Behavioral visitor targeting. Your Prosperent ads are shown on past visitor behavior to maximize your revenue. If a visitor is searching for a particular product one week but a different product next week, Prosperent will show a blend of the same products to generate their interest.

8.)
No minimum payout, payments via PayPal, and net 30 terms. This means: Prosperent pays you no matter what you earn, via PayPal, every 30 days (or month).

9.)
International ads. Prosperent currently shows ads to the following countries (and more are on the way): United States, UK, France, Germany, and Canada.

10.)
Fallback ad options. When no ads can be displayed from Prosperent, you can enter a fallback ad option to be displayed. This can be either a java script code (i.e. Adsense) or general keyword.

11.)
Helpful and resourceful community. The Prosperent forum is extremely beneficial to even the most experienced affiliates. Learn more about how to promote Prosperent and ask any questions you want and get answers from the professionals!

12.)
Detailed Reports. Prosperent offers very detailed reports that are broken down by date range, country, and campaign. See where your visitors are coming from.

13.
Stats updated frequently. This is my favorite feature of Prosperent. It seems that some affiliate programs only update about once a day or a few times at most. Well, not Prosperent. They have regularly updated stats so you can see the results! (Note: sales are updated once daily, as of now. Impressions and clicks are updated throughout the day).
